Check in & check out times?
On your day of arrival we guarantee your room by 3pm - however, should you arrive before this, we would be delighted to take care of your luggage whilst you make use of our restaurant or pool & spa. We will inform you as soon as your room is ready.
On your day of departure we ask that you please vacate your room by 12 noon. You are welcome to stay with us for the rest of the day to continue to use our facilities, including the Pool and Spa.
Can we book a spa treatment on arrival?
Yes but all spa treatments are subject to availability, and to avoid disappointment we would recommend you pre-book your appointment time prior to arrival.
I would like to try a spa treatment but have never had one before - what do you recommend?
Should you be unsure as to which treatment you would like, we suggest simply booking the time required on our 'Purely a Treat' - a luxury treatment that includes a 15 minute consultation during your stay, so we can customise a 1 hour treatment to your needs.
Do you accept dogs in the hotel?
No - although we can certainly recommend local kennels in the area. Please contact Hilltop Boarding Kennels in Haverthwaite on 015395 31452.
What is the dress code in the restaurants?
Smart casual throughout. No denim or trainers in our Lakeview Restaurant for dinner please.
Do we need to book for dinner prior to arrival?
It is advisable to ensure the time you require, but you will be asked on arrival.
Is there a full vegetarian menu?
There is always a selection of vegetarian dishes available as part of all our menus.
Do you cater for special diets?
Yes - do please inform us of your requirements prior to arrival, we will endeavour to meet your needs.
What time are meals served?
Breakfast 7.30am - 11.00am
Lakeview Restaurant 6.45pm - 9.15pm
Can non-residents book for dinner in either restaurant?
Yes, however priority is always given to hotel residents.
Do you have single rooms?
We offer any of our double/twin rooms for single occupancy.
Is there wheelchair access?
Yes - the whole of the ground floor of the hotel is easily accessible by wheelchair and many of our bedrooms on all floors are accessible by wheelchair, via the hotel lifts.
One of our ground floor bedrooms has a bathroom that is equipped with grab rails. There is an easy access cloakroom and toilet on the ground floor.
What is the difference in room types?
All rooms are individually decorated throughout and furnished with designer fabrics, en-suite with white Italian marble bathroom.
- Executive Lodge Suite - The Lodge offers two seperate suites each with their own adjoining lounge, private sauna and huge picture window with outstanding views of Lake Windermere. Set in its own position by the lakeshore with private patio and gardens.
- Executive Lakeview Suite (Room 56) - with adjoining lounge area with beautiful big bay window, overlooking Lake Windermere, with Jacuzzi bathroom.
- Executive Suite (Room 52) - Main double bedroom individually furnished with plasma television, en-suite double shower with body jets and two separate shower systems. Separate spacious lounge area overlooking Lake Windermere with plasma television, DVD player and BOSE sound system. Second luxurious bathroom with 5 jet Jacuzzi bath with underwater light.
- Executive Lounge Suite - with adjoining lounge area overlooking Lake Windermere, with Jacuzzi bathroom.
- Country House Executive Deluxe Suite (Room 400) - with separate spacious lounge area overlooking gardens, with Jacuzzi bathroom.
- Lakeview Double with Four Poster - with four poster bed and Jacuzzi bathroom, overlooking Lake Windermere.
- Lakeview Terrace Room - A ground floor lakeview room, with patio windows opening onto our gardens, with terrace furniture, overlooking Lake Windermere.
- Lakeview Double or Twin Room - overlooking Lake Windermere.
- Deluxe Double Room - contemporary bedroom with picture windows overlooking the garden, luxury bathroom by Villeroy & Boch with feature glass and coloured lighting.
- Country House Lakeview Room - furnished with individual antiques and overlooking gardens, then down onto Lake Windermere, with Jacuzzi bathroom.
- Ground Floor Patio Room - contemporary bedroom with patio doors, access to the garden and patio table & chairs.
- Country House Garden Room - furnished with individual antiques, each of these ground floor rooms has access to their own private themed garden.
- Country House Premium Room - furnished with individual antiques, overlooking woodlands.
- Premium Double or Twin Room - overlooking either the woodlands or the garden to the side of the hotel.
- Premium Courtyard Double or Twin Room - overlooking the inner courtyard to the centre of the hotel.
- Family Rooms - We offer a selection of 6 spacious family rooms for 2 adults and up to 3 children. Our family rooms enjoy either an internal second bedroom, where the children sleep or our double sized rooms allow plenty of space for everyone.
Do you have family rooms?
We offer a selection of 6 spacious family rooms for 2 adults and up to 3 children. Our family rooms enjoy either an internal second bedroom, where the children sleep or our double sized rooms allow plenty of space for everyone. In addition, 6 of our Premium rooms have the extra addition of a ¾ sofa bed suitable for up to 2 small children.
What is the cost of children in their own room?
Unfortunately there is no reduction for children in their own room - we suggest one of our family rooms, with an internal second bedroom, as an alternative.
Where can children dine and at what time?

Are there fridges in the bedrooms?
No, but should you have anything that you require refrigerating, please contact Reception and they will arrange this for you.
Mini-bars?
No, but a full Drinks and Wine service to the rooms is available.
Is there a car park?
Yes - parking for 200 cars is available. We provide a complimentary voucher for residents, which you can display in your windscreen throughout your stay.
Do you have storage for mountain bikes?
Yes, but the hotel can not be liable for their safety.
What is in the village of Lakeside?
Lakeside is a small hamlet on the edge of Lake Windermere, ideal for a restful stay. Cruise boats leave from directly outside the hotel, enabling you to reach Bowness and Ambleside by boat. The Aquarium of the Lakes is opposite the hotel - a large freshwater attraction, giving a unique insight in to the fascinating world of Lakeland life. Take a trip on The Lakeside & Haverthwaite steam railway (open from March to October) opposite the hotel
