Lakeside NGS Events
The National Garden Scheme is an award winning scheme
across England and Wales founded in 1927.
The aim of the scheme is to open gardens of quality, character and
interest to the public in order to raise money for charity.
In 2014, Lakeside will open its gardens to the public on:
Wednesday 25th June and Wednesday 27th August 2014
Lakeside Hotel, Rocky Bank and Haverthwaite Lodge
Sunday 15th June and Sunday 21st September
Haverthwaite Lodge only
The gardens are open from 11am until 4pm
All NGS visitors will receive 20% discount from the conservatory menu on the day
Lakeside Hotel and Rocky Bank are two diverse gardens on the shores
of Lake Windermere. The gardens have been created for year round interest,
packed with choice plants. On the NGS open days,
guests can also combine admission with
Haverthwaite Lodge is a traditional Lake District garden that has been redesigned
and replanted.The gardens are set in a beautiful woodland surrounding
on a series of terraces leading down to the R Leven and include a:
rose garden, cutting garden, dell area, rock terrace,
herbaceous boarders and many interesting shrubs.
