The National Garden Scheme is an award winning scheme across England and Wales founded in 1927.
The aim of the scheme is to open gardens of quality, character and interest to the public in order to raise money for charity.

The gardens are open from 11am until 4pm All NGS visitors will receive 20% discount from the conservatory menu.
Lakeside Hotel and Rocky Bank are two diverse gardens on the shores of Lake Windermere. The gardens have been created for year round interest, packed with choice plants. On the NGS open days, guests can also combine admission with Haverthwaite Lodge.
Haverthwaite Lodge is a traditional Lake District garden that has been redesigned and replanted. The gardens are set in a beautiful woodland surrounding on a series of terraces leading down to the River Leven and include a: rose garden, cutting garden, dell area, rock terrace, herbaceous boarders and many interesting shrubs.
Gardens Spring To Life For NGS Open Days
To mark VisitEngland's Year of The English Garden, Lakeside Hotel & Spa is remodelling part of its lakeshore gardens and opening up the grounds as part of the National Garden Scheme.
Already winners of Cumbria in Bloom for the last three years, work has got underway on plans to open up a small summer garden - known as 'Ruskin's Garden' - at the front of the former 17th century coaching inn. Additional landscaping, evergreen shrubs and outdoor seating will be added to roses, pear trees and ornamental grasses for guests to enjoy. Read more...
