From Lakeside Hotel you can be on, or in, the lake within a couple of steps! Try kayaking to the islands, Swallows and Amazons style, or test your balance on a paddle board. Just down the road you’ll discover exciting adventures from off-roading to archery and clay pigeon shooting.

Honister Adventure Activities
Honister Slate Mine is the home of adventure. Tackle extreme via ferrata, take a mine tour, ‘climb the mine’, or wander across the infinity bridge. In England’s last working slate mine, you’ll discover some very unique adventures to get your adrenaline pumping!

E-biking
If you are most comfortable on two wheels, E-Bike Safaris is a great way to explore the Lake District, while ease-e-ride offers e-bike hire in the South Lakes and Morecambe Bay areas.

Indoor Climbing
For the kids (or big kids) that can’t sit still, Kendall Wall is just 25 minutes away, in the Lake District market town of Kendal. An indoor climbing experience that features both roped climbing and bouldering.

Bushcraft
In the woodlands of Graythwaite Estate (just 5 minutes away), discover a place where tech and time is forgotten! An ultimate outdoor experience, where you’ll learn and practice ancient survival techniques from fire lighting to shelter building. A hands on experience for all ages.

Axe Throwing

4x4 Off-road Driving
Graythwaite Adventure offers visitors a thrilling 4×4 adventure on Graythwaite Estate in a Land Rover Defender or Ineos Grenadier, on the only British Off Road Driving Association accredited course in the Lakes, amidst the stunning landscape of the Lake District. Just a five minute (on-road) drive from our front door!

Segway Tours
Explore the beautiful village of Cartmel on a unique Segway tour with Lakeland Segway – particularly great if your legs are feeling a little tired from too much adventure! Just 15 minutes from the hotel, Cartmel is a hidden gem of fine dining, famous sticky toffee pudding and a popular racecourse.

Ghyll Scrambling
Another proper Lake District adventure. It’s time to get wet (on purpose – rather than caught in the rain)! Ghyll scrambling involves clambering up a mountain river, jumping into plunge pools, and exploring nature’s natural water slides.

Zipworld Treetop Trek & Nets
High adrenaline and a lot of fun! Become Mowgli and swing, climb, balance, and fly your way through 250-year old oak trees at Brockhole, an adventure playground for the entire family. If you don’t fancy the ‘trek’, there are more than 1,500 metres of giant trampolines up in the trees to explore.

Horse Riding

Seal Watching
