A great question! It depends on the type of algae. If you spot any blue-green algae then you should not swim in the lake and it’s really important to keep pets out of the water too. While humans most likely won’t be severely affected, it can be fatal to pets. If you’re not sure then we would advise that you err on the side of caution or ask at reception for advice!

Yes! Our pool and spa is open to non-residents. Spa treatments can be booked online or at reception, and access to the facilities (pool, gym, sauna, and steam room) is £25 for three hours per person.

You will need to book your spa treatment in advance as appointments do tend to fill up quite quickly, and you can do this online or at reception. If you haven’t pre-booked a treatment in advance then don’t panic! We would recommend double checking at reception just in case, as we sometimes get last-minute cancellations. Access to the pool doesn’t need to be pre-booked and you are welcome to wander down at any time during opening hours.

No, access to the facilities (gym and pool) isn’t included in the price of your treatment. You can however add on access if you want to.

All of our spa day and treatment vouchers are available to purchase through Gifted. As a rule they are usually valid for 12 months (unless you are buying a voucher using a special offer with restricted dates). This means your recipient can book whenever is convenient for them, as long as it’s within the validity period. You can speak to our reception team if you are unsure!

You will arrive at the Lakeside Hotel reception where there is an arrival bay. If you are arriving for a spa day then one of our reception team will direct you to our conservatory for coffee and pastries before taking you through to the spa. If you are arriving for a treatment then you will be directed straight through to the spa. If you are a resident in the hotel then a member of the reception team should have shown you where the spa is located during check-in, so please head straight to the spa around 15 minutes before your treatment time.
