For activities hosted by companies external to the hotel, we would recommend booking in advance, especially during school holidays or the summer months because it can get quite busy. For activities like boat rides on Windermere Lake Cruises, you can simply turn up and purchase on the day, but if you are booking an experience day at Graythwaite Adventures then you’ll likely need to book in advance. We’d recommend having a Google and looking at their T&Cs and booking availability!

This isn’t something we currently offer but there are some local businesses or mountain leaders who offer these kinds of services. We don’t partner with anyone specifically, so we would recommend having a look online to find the right tour guide for you!

We are situated on the south western shore of Lake Windermere, tucked in the small village of Lakeside. Most guests arrive by private car and we’ve even had a couple arrive by private helicopter! For public transport options for getting around there are a couple of options and you can find out more details HERE. In summary though, you can book a hire car, grab a taxi, get the bus, or even get the train.

We don’t have any bicycles at the hotel but we do partner with some great e-bike companies who can organise hire for you and you can find their information in our activity pages (*link).
